Online Communities

Online communities... I think I have been involved with different online communities before, for example there was this website called YOUTHGLUE.com, my pastor had a subscription on this site for my youh group, and we would discuss our ideas and what we though in this site. We had our own websites. It was like a myspace. If we were discussing something in our chat place, or forum my pastor would see if our conversations would go over board, and if it crosses the line he would delete this certain topic. Then I had my own XANGA.com it was exactly like how this blogspot worked. We would blog about things and people would read it then comment on it. I had a group of friends that would comment me regularly, but there were some random people that would just check out my site, and say "props to your site." There was no specific rules in xanga on what to not put on your site, but I think you would not be allowed to put up inappropriate pictures. Then I had facebook, it is group of college students who has their own sites, and would comment on it. In your site you usually see where you are from and what school or college you are from. I do not exactly know the things that is going on in facebook because I don't go on in enough to know, what could happen if I do something wrong. Lastly I have myspace, YES myspace.... Everyone has a myspace and I LOVE IT! It is a way for me to communicate and know what is going on in other peoples lives without seeing them. I comment and look at pictures. In myspace, Tom makes sure that no one is putting up inapprooriate pictures and would delete your account if you do have some.
