MY NERVE RACKING PRESENTATION

Today I presented about the book called The Knowledge of the Web by James Burke. This book The Knowledge of the Web talks about the different connection between the everything that goes around us. One of the most important things that connects to almost everything is technology. Technology connects to politics, education, scientific, and media. This book does not talk about the world wide web, but it talks about the connections, that is why it is called the "web."
In educational the technology is the new way of thinking, it over rides intelligence. The machines that we are taught to use is increasingly taking over the tasks that once occupied a human lifetime.
In media the techonology happens when we use the printing press, and any communications that society can get involve in and get information on.
In politics, the newspaper, computers, internet are very important in the politics world because without the media no one would know anything about what is going on in our government and politician world.
In the scientific world today, we have better technology. The science has expanded for example Botany has become biology, chemistry, histology, embryology, evolutionary biology, physiology.

www."HIS FACE".net

Kevin Freitas, was different from the guy from exit 133. Actually they were kind of the same, but their sites are much more different. What I remember was his site was different from exit 133. Because exit133 talked about the things going on in Tacoma. In Kevin's page it talked about the things that he see's not just in Tacoma, he also has different part of his page when it talks about video games. He loves to take different pictures. And post it on his site, he said so it is memorable to remember. I remember him saying was that both and his wife wakes up in they go straight to the computer and that is when they do their blogs, and check their emails. That is their only time to catch up on emails and blogs. Another thing I remember him talking about is that he NEVER reads. Unless it is an email or something, but other than that he has not read a book for longer than FOREVER.

Online Communities

Online communities... I think I have been involved with different online communities before, for example there was this website called YOUTHGLUE.com, my pastor had a subscription on this site for my youh group, and we would discuss our ideas and what we though in this site. We had our own websites. It was like a myspace. If we were discussing something in our chat place, or forum my pastor would see if our conversations would go over board, and if it crosses the line he would delete this certain topic. Then I had my own XANGA.com it was exactly like how this blogspot worked. We would blog about things and people would read it then comment on it. I had a group of friends that would comment me regularly, but there were some random people that would just check out my site, and say "props to your site." There was no specific rules in xanga on what to not put on your site, but I think you would not be allowed to put up inappropriate pictures. Then I had facebook, it is group of college students who has their own sites, and would comment on it. In your site you usually see where you are from and what school or college you are from. I do not exactly know the things that is going on in facebook because I don't go on in enough to know, what could happen if I do something wrong. Lastly I have myspace, YES myspace.... Everyone has a myspace and I LOVE IT! It is a way for me to communicate and know what is going on in other peoples lives without seeing them. I comment and look at pictures. In myspace, Tom makes sure that no one is putting up inapprooriate pictures and would delete your account if you do have some.

Scavenger Hunt

This is what I have so far

I have found the first one I just had to search up his name on google and digital hollywood. The second one took me forever to find, I had to work on it with Daniel. The third one was a little complicating it took some time to get all the information together then finally find the price. As for ther others from 4-7 it did not take that long to find the information I just had to google it.

That is how much I have gone so far, Daniel helped me look through somethings, and I was not there the day we did it in class.

Biggest Purchase I am comfortable making

Well the biggest purchase I have online, is nothing. Like what I said I have not purchased anything online. Well the biggest purchase I have in actual stores is probably $200 dollars on a jacket probably. But usually when I am making a big purchase it is usually paying for the item. I am comfortable in making any purchase less than 200 dollars because over that is just a waste of money. Unless it is a house or a car. Actually the biggest purchase I have done is a car it was worth $750.00.
It really depends on what the item is. If it is a car then there is a certain limit, probably thousands. If it is a house probably hundreds of thousands. But if it is a shoe or type of clothing less than 200 dollars. There is really no certain amount of money I can spend, it depends on the item I am buying.

What does it take to Make a Community?

Huh?? What does it take to make a community? That is a great questions. I looked up the word community in the dictionary, it means a social group of any size whose members reside in a specific locality, share government, and often have a common cultural and historical heritage. Or a social, religious, occupational, or other group sharing common characteristics or interests.

A community just need people that has the same beliefs, or something the have in common or share any interest with this group of people. Does not exactly have to have a place where there's grocery, shopping center, houses, church, or any place. You do not need a place to be in a community, it is made up of people. You can not have a community and have homes, cars, roads, shopping area, groceries without any people. Like what I said before you need people for it to become a community.

Your Topic for Presentation

Well my topic for presentation is the book called "The Knowledge Web" by James Burke. It is a great book about technology and how it evolves from forever ago. I do not exactly know the details about it because I have no read over it, but I have skimmed through it. What I know so far about the different technology, such as DNA fingerprinting, how technology connects to politics, scientific, business corporations, educational institutions and universities, and media and communication agents. One part of the book talks about how they came up with the idea to fix the Tacoma Narrow Bridge. But that is all I know about my book. :)

Services that are Available

OK well.. there are so much services out there online. There is bank online, and you can up load all your checks stuff, transfer things from one account to another and all these things. There is food shopping online, like Albertson or Safeway online. I think thats awesome! But anyways there are dating services online, I think its weird when people meet online, and they start dating, but it is possible. Oh! one of my favorite services out there is dvd rentals, all you do is pick a movie from Blockbuster then they send it to you in mail. That is my favorite, no need to go to the store pick a movie which takes a long time, then drive back home then finally watch the movie.

Comfort in Purchasing Online

Well actually I have never purchased online anything online. But I have look through online to compare things or have looked online to see if a company has the item I needed. Its weird, my teacher asked everyone in class what was the last thing they purchased online, and everyone said something except me. I never really like the whole thing with purchasing it online, I would rather see it in person, and try it out. Thats just me. I dont really like online things, I am scared it might be broken or something, then I would have to return it, then wait for them to ship it.
